End of Summer Smoothie
It's the end of summer - which means that pears are coming to the farmer's markets!! Here's a great smoothie for breakfast or an afternoon snack. Minimal fruit and maximum nutrients! Blend these ingredients all together:
2 cups baby kale (or any dark, leafy green)
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/4 cup fresh mint
1 scoop protein powder (We most often use Standard Process Complete Dairy Free. Available at the office)
1/2 lemon, or juice of lemon
pinch of cinnamon 1 - 1/2 cups almond milk – plain, unsweetened
If you're still feeling hot in this heat wave, add in 5 ice cubes! - That's how Dr. K likes it.
